Bryony and Cormac - The Rosevine Wedding

The Roseland Peninsula (located on Cornwall’s south coast) is a wedding photographers dream. A beautiful, idillic location, filled with hidden coves, golden beaches and rolling fields. For their wedding, Bryony and Cormac had picked an absolute gem of a wedding venue –  ‘The Rosevine”. They had also worked tirelessly to make the wedding day unique and special to them. In the grounds of The Rosevine they had created a spectacular wedding experience. Central to this was a “Giant Hat Tipi” from the Cornish Tent Company. These tipi’s are incredible, they are absolutely massive. For their wedding, the bride and groom had beautifully styled the tipi, with every detail designed and created by the bride.

The wedding day started for me with photographing the bridal preparation at The Rosevine. The groomsmen had opted to relax with a coffee down at The Hidden Hut at Porthcurnick Beach before walking back to The Rosevine to get suited and booted. With the the wedding party dressed and ready to go it was time for the ceremony.

Bryony and Cormac desperately wanted a beach ceremony. To achieve this, they had created a ceremony area on Porthcurnick beach. Complete with an arch, rose petal aisle and candles, it was just what they had wanted. The ceremony was expertly officiated by Nicola from the Cornish Celebrants. With the ceremony underway, the tide decided to intervene. A quick repositioning of the ceremony area and all was good. With the beach element of the ceremony completed, once more the couple had added another unique aspect to their day. They asked each of their guests to take a white pebble and joining them in throwing it into the sea whilst making a wish for the couple. It was a lovely touch. The wedding party then retired to The Rosevine for the final part of their ceremony.

With the wedding completed it was time for drinks on canapes on the lawns of the wedding venue. With garden games for the guests to play there was a real summer fete feel to the occasion.

In what felt like know time at all, it was time for the wedding breakfast. The food at The Rosevine is superb and the guests certainly agreed. With meal finished it was time for the speeches. With the wedding breakfast finished, all that was left was for the evening reception to begin. What better way to kick this off than with a ceilidh. The guests certainly thought so, with some interesting ‘free style’ ceilidh dance floor moves.

Just before I left a Cornish sea mist had started to drift in. This can really add to the atmosphere and for a wedding photographer can either be a great opportunity or a real problem. For me, I absolutely love it. The bride and groom were more than willing to take up on the opportunity, which was fantastic. I love the images that we captured with the mist gathering behind.

A unique day and an absolute pleasure to capture it.
